I always thought that the best present anyone ever received as a gift was what the People of France gave us for our 100th birthday. Lady Liberty. The Statue that stands over all of us. "Give us your tired your hungry your poor," she says.  "All of you".  "We'll put you to work and we'll protect you. Now that you are one of us, we'll take care of the rest."
